Vote to pass a bill that authorizes vaccinated teachers to take COVID-19 sick days.

Highlights:

• Authorizes school district employees, including teachers and support staff that are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to receive paid administrative leave to care for themselves or their children without penalty if them or their children have a confirmed positive COVID-19 diagnosis (Sec. 34-18.78).

• Defines “fully vaccinated against COVID-19” as being 2 weeks after receiving the second dose in a 2-dose series of COVID-19 vaccine authorized for use by the United States Food and Drug Adminstration (Sec. 34-18.78).

• Requires that the provisions of this law be applied retroactively to the beginning the year 2022 (Sec. 34-18.78).
