Title: Specifies New Election Security Measures
A vote to pass a bill that specifies new general provisions regarding the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and election fraud.
Requires private individuals or nongovernmental entities that seek to provide a grant, gift, or donation to the state or to a board of registrars for any election related purpose file an application for approval with the State Election Board (Sec. 3).
Prohibits any election ballot from being handled without a poll official being present and requires immediate resealment in ballot boxes or other secure containers after handling is complete (Sec. 12).
Specifies that any individual found to have intimated a poll officer or election official or threatens force or violence in a manner that would prevent them from executing their duties shall be guilty of a felony (Sec. 17).
Defines “intimidated” as to undertake or pursue a knowing and willful course which causes emotional distress by placing another person in reasonable fear for their safety (Sec. 17).
