Vote to pass a bill that amends the compensation process for county officials.

Highlights:

• Authorizes a board of supervisors to vote to establish a county compensation board, composed of 7 members who are residents of that county (Sec. 4).

• Requires that the county compensation board provide documentation to the board of supervisors that demonstrate how the county compensation board determined the recommended compensation schedule (Sec. 6).

• Specifies that when determining the final compensation schedule for the elected county officers the board of supervisors shall set compensation at no less than the compensation provided in the current schedule (Sec. 6).

• Defines “current compensation schedule” as the compensation schedule in effect when the board of supervisors considers the recommended compensation schedule (Sec. 6).
