Title: Prohibits Teaching Certain Concepts on Race, Gender, and Ethnicity
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits teaching certain concepts on race, gender, and ethnicity that make students feel discomfort or guilt in the classroom.
Amends the Indiana Code concerning education (Sec. 1).
Requires the governing body of the school to establish a curricular materials advisory committee to regulate curricular materials and educational activities (Sec. 6).
Specifies the rules for forming the curricular materials advisory committee (Sec. 6).
Specifies suspending or revoking teaching license as the penalties for violations (Sec. 10).
Defines “qualified schools” (Sec. 16).
Requires curricular materials to not include potentially sensitive topics related to sex, race, ethnicity, religion, color, national origin, or political affiliation (Sec. 20).
