Title: Prohibits the Use of Restrains on Children Under the Age of 21 Appearing Before Family Court
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the use of handcuffs, chains, shackles, irons, straitjackets and other restraints on children under the age of 21 appearing before family court.
Prohibits the use of the following restraints on children under the age of 21 appearing before family court, including (Sec. 1):
Handcuffs;
Chains;
Shackles;
Irons;
Straitjackets; and
Other restraints
Specifies that physical restraint consisting of handcuffs or foot cuffs that are not joined together may be used in a courtroom (Sec. 1).
Establishes that this bill shall take effect immediately upon passage (Sec. 2).
