  • Requires each city or township shall use the electronic poll book software developed by the bureau of elections in each election precinct in the city or township on election day to process voters and generate election precinct reports (Sec. 668b-1).

  • Prohibits the electronic poll book from being connected to the internet after the polls open and until the results have been tabulated for that precinct and transmitted to the appropriate clerk in each election precinct or absent voter counting board on election day (Sec. 668b-4).

  • Requires an electronic voting system acquired or used to meet all of the following requirements (Sec. 795-1):

    • Provide for voting in secrecy, except in the case of voters who receive assistance as provided by this act;

    • Utilize a paper ballot for tabulating purposes; and

    • Permit each elector to vote at an election for all individuals and offices for whom and for which the elector is lawfully entitled to vote; to vote for as many individuals for an office as the elector is entitled to vote for, and to vote for or against any question upon which the elector is entitled to vote.

  • Prohibits each election precinct or absent voter counting board from being connected to the internet on election day after the polls open and until the results have been tabulated for that precinct and only to upload those results to the appropriate clerk (Sec. 795.o).

  • Requires electronic tabulating equipment that counts votes at the precinct before the close of the polls must provide a method for rendering the equipment inoperable if vote totals are revealed before the close of the polls (Sec. 795-2).
