  • Defines “unserved area” as any project area where broadband service with a minimum of 10 megabits per second downstream and one megabit per second upstream is not available (Sec. 1).

  • Appropriates $250 million in federal funds fiscal year 2021-2022 for broadband development and service costs in underserved and unserved areas, with no more than $50 million being awarded before April 1, 2022 (Sec. 3).
