Title: Extends Eviction Protections for Renters Experiencing Financial Hardship
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that extends eviction protections for renters experiencing financial hardship due to the pandemic through July 1, 2022.
Requires that a landlord who owns four or fewer rental properties wait fourteen days before serving written notice of nonpayment of rent and corresponding eviction notices (Sec. i).
Requires that a landlord who owns more than four rental properties create a six-month plan for a tenant to make up any unpaid rent before evicting said tenant (Sec. ii).
Specifies how a landlord may seek redress if a tenant fails to pay the total amount due within 14 days of receiving notice of unpaid rent (Sec. iii).
Authorizes tenants to participate in other rental relief programs through nonprofit organizations or as made available under the law (Sec. iv).
