Vote to pass a bill authorizes retail stores to remain open with one staff and one shopper during disaster emergency declarations.
Prohibits the governor from closing small businesses during an emergency if the business can restrict their business to one customer and one employee at any time (Sec. 7309).
Requires that a business that stays open during an emergency adheres to federal and state guidelines to protect its employees and its customers (Sec. 7309).
Specifies that if a business stays open during an emergency it may also (Sec. 7309):
Maintain those employees needed to proceed with online operations; and
Provide contactless delivery and curbside pick-up services; and
Prohibit cash payments for safety purposes.
