Title: Prohibits the Use of PFAS Chemicals in Food Packaging
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the use of "Forever" PFAS chemicals in food packaging to ensure food and environmental safety.
Requires manufacturers use the least toxic alternative when replacing polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in products (Sec. 1).
Prohibits individuals from selling, offering for sale, or distributing cookware products that does not follow the aforementioned provision (Sec. 1).
Defines “cookware” as durable houseware items that are used in homes and restaurants to prepare, dispense, store, or serve food, foodstuff, or beverages, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):
Pots, pans or skillets;
Grills, baking sheets, or baking molds;
Trays, bowls, or kitchen tools; or
Spoons and spatulas.
