Title: Requires the Budget Agency to Withhold Income Tax Revenue from an Eligible County
Vote to pass a bill that requires the budget agency to withhold local income tax revenue from an eligible county if the eligible county fails to raise certain revenues for a public transportation project.
Requires eligible County officials to use between 10-25 percent of their annual operating budget on operating expenses for public transportation projects or, beginning June 30, 2021 have the state auditor withhold between 10-25 percent of additional income tax revenue (Sec. 2).
Requires the budget committee to annually review the amount raised from fares and charges from fares and charges from public transportation projects in eligible counties (Sec. 4).
