Highlights:

 

  • Specifies the following can be used for identification (Sec. 1-22-1-102.B):

    • A Wyoming driver's license;

    • A tribal identification card;

    • A Wyoming identification card;

    • A valid United States passport;

    • A United States military card;

    • A driver's license or identification card issued by any state or outlying possession of the United States;

    • Photo identification issued by the University of Wyoming, a Wyoming community college or a Wyoming public school;

    • A valid Medicare insurance card; and

    • A valid Medicaid insurance card.

  • Specifies unless a voter is challenged, no identification is required when (Sec. 1-22-3-118.a):

    • Voting absentee ballot after having registered in person; or

    • Voting absentee ballot after having registered by mail and having submitted a copy of the person's acceptable identification at the time of registration.

  • Authorizes a person to vote only if the person is a qualified elector, only in the precinct in which the person resides and, if voting in person, only if the person presents acceptable identification immediately before voting at the polling place or absentee polling place. If a person is unable to present acceptable identification immediately before voting at the polling place or absentee polling place, the person may vote by provisional ballot (Sec. 22-2-119).

  • Authorizes a person offering to vote to be challenged for in-person voting, failure to present acceptable identification immediately before voting at the polling place or absentee polling place (Sec. 1-22-15-104.a).

  • Specifies a notification to conspicuously advise registrants of the requirement that in-person voters present acceptable identification immediately before voting at the polling place or absentee polling place and that an identification card is a form of acceptable identification (Sec. 1-31-8-103.d).

  • Authorizes an application fee of $10 to be waived if the applicant requests an identification card that will be used only for voter identification purposes (Sec. 1-31-8-104).
