Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the automatic disqualification of individuals with criminal records from providing care to vulnerable adults and children.
Prohibits the Department of Social and Health Services from disqualifying an applicant that has received a certificate of restoration from having the opportunity to have unsupervised access to children, vulnerable adults, or individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities solely based on their criminal history (Sec. 3).
Amends previous law to specify that a criminal conviction found during a department background check is no longer automatic disqualification of an applicant from working with children, vulnerable adults, or individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities (Sec. 4).
