Vote to pass a bill that requires legislative oversight over governor election commission appointments.

Highlights:

• Authorizes the president of the senate and the speaker of the house, on behalf of both legislatures, to have the unconditional right to intervene on behalf of their respective bodies in a state court action that challenges the validity of an election law, election policy, or the manner in which an election was conducted (Sec. 2).

• Establishes a State Election Commission consisting of 5 members, led by an executive director, that will serve a 4 year term and be appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the Senate and General Assembly (Sec. 3-4).

• Specifies that if the aforementioned executive director is not confirmed by the senate and general assembly then the individual may not be allowed to serve as executive director of the election commission (Sec. 4).
