Vote to pass a bill that appropriates 5 million dollars in scholarships to fund high-school dual-credit reimbursement.
Requires the state board of higher education to administer a dual-credit tuition scholarship program to offer a tuition scholarship to students (Sec. 1).
Specifies the following qualifications for students to be eligible for the tuition scholarship program (Sec. 1):
Be enrolled and have completed at least one semester, quarter, or term at a public, private, or tribal institution of higher education in the state;
Have:
Graduated from a high school in the state;
Graduated from a high school in a bordering state;
Graduated from a nonpublic high school in a bordering state while residing with a custodial parent in North Dakota;
Completed a program of home education; and
Have completed at least one dual - credit course provided by an institution under the control of the state board of higher education while enrolled in high school or a program of home education in the state.
Specifies that a student is not eligible to receive more than $750 as part of the tuition scholarship program (Sec. 1).
Appropriates $1.5 million from the Bank of North Dakota to the state board of higher education for the purpose of providing tuition scholarships (Sec. 2).
