Title: Prohibits Transgender Women and Girls from Participating in Women's Sports

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits transgender women and girls from participating in sports that do not match their birth sex.

Highlights:

 

  • Requires Interscholastic, intercollegiate, intramural or club athletic teams or sports that are sponsored by a public elementary or secondary school, a postsecondary educational institution, or any school or other postsecondary educational institution whose students or teams compete against a public school or postsecondary educational institution shall be expressly designated as one of the following based on biological sex (Sec. 3):

    • Males, men or boys;

    • Females, women or girls; or

    • Coed or mixed.

  • Specifies that athletic teams or sports designates for females, women, or girls will not be open to students of the male sex (Sec. 3). 

  • Requires disputes regarding a student’s sex to be resolved by the student providing a student health examination and a verification of their biological sex from a health care provider (Sec. 3).

  • Specifies that healthcare providers may verify a students biological sex as part of a routine sports physical examination relying only on one or more of (Sec. 3):

    • The student’s reproductive anatomy; 

    • Genetic makeup; or 

    • Normal endogenously produced testosterone levels.
