Title: Requires Photo ID to Cast a Ballot

Vote to pass a bill that requires photo ID to cast a ballot.

Highlights:

 

  • Requires personal photo ID if voting absentee in person which includes (Sec. A):

    • Non-expired Missouri driver’s license;

    • Non-expired or non-expiring Missouri non-driver’s license;  

    • A document that satisfies the following requirements 

      • The document contains the name of the individual to whom the document was issued, and the name substantially conforms to the most recent signature in the individual's voter registration record;

      • The document shows a photograph of the individual;

      • The document includes an expiration date, and the document is not expired, or, if expired, the document expired after the date of the most recent general election; and

      • The document was issued by the United States or the state of Missouri; or

    • Any identification containing a photograph of the individual which is issued by the Missouri National Guard, the United States Armed Forces, or the United States Department of Veteran Affairs to a member or former member of the Missouri National Guard or the United States Armed Forces and that is not expired or does not have an expiration date.

  • Prohibits individuals from receiving provisional ballots if they fail to complete a provisional ballot affidavit, which entails verifying their identity (Sec. A).
