Defines “port of entry” as a place at which a customs officer is authorized to enforce customs laws by either an order of the U.S. President, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, or by an act of U.S. Congress (Sec. 1).
Prohibits an individual attempting to cross the port of entry from knowingly misrepresenting a child’s identity as a family member of that individual to a peace officer or federal special investigator (Sec. 1).
Classifies this offense as a Class B misdemeanor (Sec. 1).
Establishes the day this Act will go into effect as September 1, 2019 (Sec. 2).
