  • Requires an individual performing an abortion to inform the pregnant individual of their opportunity to (Sec. 1):

    • View an active ultrasound;

    • View an ultrasound image; and

    • Listen to the fetal heart tone, if audible.

  • Specifies that the aforementioned requirements shall not apply for procedures to (Sec. 1):

    • Save the life of the pregnant individual;

    • Ameliorate a serious risk of causing the pregnant individual substantial and irreversible impairment of a bodily function; or

    • Remove an ectopic pregnancy.

  • Requires the individual performing an abortion to obtain the pregnant individual’s signature on certification developed by the department of health and human services and retain the certification in the pregnant individual’s medical records (Sec. 1).

  • Requires the department to develop regulations to provide for the humane disposition of abortion remains (Sec. 2).
