Title: Authorizes the Continuation of Mail-In Ballots
Vote to pass a bill that requires the continuation of mail-in voting for another year due to COVID-19 complications.
Requires county elections officials to mail out a ballot to every registered voter in the state of California 29 days before any election to be held in the year 2021 (Sec. 2(a)).
Requires that county elections officials have 5 days to mail out ballots to all individuals who register to vote on the 29th day before any election (Sec 2.(a)).
Specifies that the distribution of vote by mail ballots to voters does not disqualify a person from voting in person at a polling place, vote center. or other authorized location (Sec 2.(b)).
Requires the California Secretary of State to establish a vote-by-mail ballot tracking system, whereby voters can track their ballots from when they are mailed out to when they are processed by county elections officials either via text or email (Sec. 3(a)).
