Vote to pass a bill that establishes a task force on child pornography and expands sentencing guidelines for offenses relating to the sexual abuse of children.

Highlights:

• Establishes the Task Force on Child Pornography (Sec. 2.a).

• Requires the following of appointed members (Sec. 2.e):

• Must be individuals who have experience in investigations or prosecutions of child pornography or sexual abuse of children, have experience in the treatment of victims of child pornography or sexual abuse of children, have experience in the prevention of child pornography or sexual abuse of children or are victims of child pornography or sexual abuse of children; and

• The appointment of members must reflect the geographic diversity of this Commonwealth.

• Specifies the members of the task force shall not receive compensation but shall be reimbursed for reasonable and necessary expenses incurred in the service of the task force (Sec. 2.7).

• Establishes the following powers of the Task Force (Sec. 2.g):

• To recommend any improvements relating to the investigation and prosecution of child pornography; and

• To recommend any necessary changes in State statutes and practices, policies and procedures relating to the recognition or prosecution of child pornography

• Requires the Task Force to submit a report with the following recommendations (Sec. 2.h-1):

• The Governor.

• The President pro tempore of the Senate.

• The Speaker of the House of Representatives.

• The chairperson and minority chairperson of the Judiciary Committee of the Senate.

• The chairperson and minority chairperson of the Judiciary Committee of the House of Representatives.
