Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that amends and diversifies the makeup of the Criminal Justice Services Board.

Highlights:

• Establishes the Criminal Justice Services Board as a policy board consisting of 32 members, 12 of which shall be specific governmental officers, and the remaining 20 of which shall be citizens of the Commonwealth, with various specified requirements, appointed by the Governor; these members will serve for a maximum of 2, 4 year terms (Sec 1A).

• Specifies that the gubernatorial civilian appointees meet the following requirements (Sec 1A):

• One appointee shall be a representative of a social justice organization;

• One appointee shall be a mental health service provider;

• At least one appointee shall represent the minority individuals within the community; and

• The remainder of appointees shall represent broad categories of local and state governing and law enforcement bodies.
