Title: Authorizes Immunity for Businesses from COVID-19 Exposure Lawsuits
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes immunity for businesses from COVID-19 exposure lawsuits.
Specifies that an employer is not liable for an employee’s exposure to COVID-19 if at the time of exposure, the employer was operating in compliance with applicable (Sec. 85):
Federal or state statutes or regulations;
Executive orders;
State agency orders; and
Public health guidance.
Specifies that an employer does not qualify for liability immunity if the employer willfully exposed an employee to COVID-19, outside of a healthcare setting (Sec. 85).
Specifies that this section does not (Sec. 85):
Create, recognize, or ratify any claims or causes of action;
Eliminate any required elements of a claim; or
Amend, repeal, alter, or affect any other immunity or liability limitations.
