Title: Expands the Violation of a Pandemic-Related Executive Order to Include a Fine
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that expands the violation of a pandemic-related executive order to include a fine in addition to a Class 1 misdemeanor.
Specifies that violations of executive orders implemented under the Commonwealth of Virginia Emergency Operations Plan may be punishable as a civil penalty of up to $500 or as a Class 1 misdemeanor (Sec 1).
Requires violations punishable as a civil penalty to be charged by summons and may be executed by a law enforcement officer when the violation is observed by the officer (Sec 1).
Requires the summons be uniform to the summons for motor vehicle law violations (Sec 1).
Requires the payment of civil penalties be paid in and collected in lawful United States currency and paid into the state treasury to the credit of the Literary Fund (Sec 1).
Specifies that the provisions of this bill expire on June 30, 2023 (Sec. 1).
