Vote to pass a bill that establishes liability protections for businesses, schools, cities, and counties during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

Highlights:

• Establishes immunity for persons from civil liability for damages or injury resulting from exposure of an individual to the COVID-19 coronavirus (Sec. 1).

• Defines a “person” as any entity recognized in this state including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):

• Individuals;

• Corporations;

• Limited liability companies;

• Partnerships;

• Associations; 

• Religious organizations;

• Cities;

• Counties;

• School districts;

• Universities or institutions of higher education; and 

• Other units of local government.

• Specifies that “person” does not include any Idaho public health district, the federal government or any of its agencies, the state of Idaho or any of its agencies, except institutions of higher education, and a foreign government or foreign jurisdiction (Sec. 1).
