Title: Authorizes the Distribution of Absentee Ballot Applications to Eligible Voters
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes all eligible voters to apply for an absentee ballot for all 2020 elections.
Authorizes any legally qualified elector of this state, who on account of circumstances manifested 20 days or less prior to any election becomes eligible to vote by mail ballot, to complete an emergency in-person mail ballot application on an electronic poll pad at the board of canvassers where the elector maintains their residence (Sec. 1).
Authorizes an emergency mail ballot application to be completed in person using an electronic poll pad provided by the board of canvassers upon presentation by the voter of valid proof of identity (Sec. 1).
Specifies that after completion of the poll pad application, the voter will be provided with a ballot issued by the secretary of state, and after completion of the ballot by the voter, the voter will place the ballot into the state-approved electronic voting device (Sec. 1).
Establishes that this act will take effect upon passage (Sec. 2).
