Vote to override a veto and pass a bill that amends and delays the time frame candidates for governor are allowed to announce their running mates.

Highlights:

• Requires candidates for the office of the Governor to declare their candidate for Lieutenant Governor as their running mate after the filing of the certificate of nomination and before 4:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday of August preceding the election (Sec 1). 

• Requires a slate of candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor to be elected jointly through a single vote applicable to both offices (Sec 1).

• Specifies that if a vacancy occurs in a candidacy for the office of Lieutenant Governor due to death, disqualification to hold the office, or a disabling condition has begun after the formation of the campaign committee, then the candidate for Governor may designate a replacement (Sec 2).
