Vote to override a veto and pass a bill that authorizes local governments to advertise online in lieu of newspaper publications.

Highlights:

• Authorizes local governments to post required advertisements online on a website operated by the local government that is accessible to the public at all times (Sec 1). 

• Requires the local government to publish a one-time advertisement to notify the public that the full advertisement is available online that meets the following requirements (Sec 1): 

• Be no more than 6 column inches; 

• Be published within 10 days of the alternative posting on the local government website;

• Inform the public of the subject matter of the alternative posting; 

• Inform the public of their rights to inspect documents related to the internet posting; 

• Provide a mailing and physical address where a copy of the documents may be obtained; and

• Include the full web address of the advertisement (Sec 1). 

• Requires local governments to display access to any and all alternative Internet postings on the homepage of the website (Sec 1).
