Title: Establishes Immunity from COVID-19 Injury Litigation to Businesses after Reopening
Vote to pass a bill that establishes immunity from COVID-19-related injury litigation to businesses after they reopen.
Specifies that a person immune from civil liability for damages or an injury resulting from exposure of an individual to COVID-19 on the premises owned or operated by the person, or during an activity managed by the person (Sec. 1).
Specifies that the immunity does apply to willful misconduct or reckless infliction of harm (Sec. 1).
Specifies that “person” means the same as that term is defined in Section 68-3-12.5, and means (Sec. 1):
An individual;
An association;
An institution;
A corporation;
A company;
A trust;
A limited liability company;
A partnership;
A political subdivision;
A government office, department, division, bureau, or other body of government; and
Any other organization or entity.
