Title: Authorizes Local Governments to Prohibit Smoking on Playgrounds
Vote to adopt a conference report that authorizes local governments to prohibit, by local resolution or ordinance adopted by a two-thirds vote, smoking on the grounds of any playground owned or operated by the local government.
Authorizes a local government to prohibit smoking on the grounds of a playground by adopting an ordinance approved by two-thirds of the local government’s legislative body (Sec. 1).
Defines “playground” as an indoor or outdoor facility that is intended for the recreation of children and owned by the local government (Sec. 1).
Defines “smoking as the burning of a tobacco product, hemp product, or any other drug or substance (Sec. 1).
Specifies that smoking does not include the use of a vapor product (Sec. 1).
