Vote to pass a bill that amends local government paid leave laws to authorize employees who positively test for the CONVID-19 coronavirus disease and are directed to self isolate or quarantine to receive paid leave.

Highlights:

 

  • Authorizes employees of a political subdivision of the state to receive fully paid leave, without having to utilize any accumulated leave time, if the absence is related to having positively tested for the COVID-19 Coronavirus disease (Sec. 1).

  • Requires employees to provide documentation of their positive COVID-19 Coronavirus disease diagnosis, and recommendation by a public health professional or government agency to self-isolate or quarantine within 3 work days of initial absence in order for the above provision to take effect (Sec. 1).

  • Establishes that if the employee does not provide the above mentioned documentation they shall be required to utilize accumulated leave time (Sec. 1).

  • Specifies that this act shall take effect immediately and shall be retroactively effective to March 9, 2020 (Sec. 1).
