Title: Amends Paid Leave Laws for Local Government Employees Who Test Positive for COVID-19
Vote to pass a bill that amends local government paid leave laws to authorize employees who positively test for the CONVID-19 coronavirus disease and are directed to self isolate or quarantine to receive paid leave.
Authorizes employees of a political subdivision of the state to receive fully paid leave, without having to utilize any accumulated leave time, if the absence is related to having positively tested for the COVID-19 Coronavirus disease (Sec. 1).
Requires employees to provide documentation of their positive COVID-19 Coronavirus disease diagnosis, and recommendation by a public health professional or government agency to self-isolate or quarantine within 3 work days of initial absence in order for the above provision to take effect (Sec. 1).
Establishes that if the employee does not provide the above mentioned documentation they shall be required to utilize accumulated leave time (Sec. 1).
Specifies that this act shall take effect immediately and shall be retroactively effective to March 9, 2020 (Sec. 1).
