Title: Establishes Paid Sick Leave for Employees Affected by the COVID-19 Coronavirus Disease
Vote to pass a bill that establishes paid sick leave for employees affected by the COVID-19 coronavirus disease.
Requires the following employers to provide employees subject to any quarantine or isolation related to COVID-19 5 days of paid sick leave and unpaid sick leave (Sec. 1):
Employers with 10 or less employees and a net income greater than $1 million; and
Employers with 11 to 99 employees.
Specifies that at the end of the 5 days of paid sick leave, employees shall be eligible for paid family leave and disability benefits (Sec 1).
Requires employers with 100 or more employees to provide employees subject to any quarantine or isolation related to COVID-19 at least 14 days of paid sick leave (Sec 1).
Requires that employees will return to the same position of employment they had when they began their leave (Sec 3).
Specifies that any employees that have been traveling under the following circumstances are only eligible for leave provided by their employer (Sec. 4):
Visiting countries that have been given a level two or three health notice from the Center for Disease Control; or
Travel to that country was not taken as a part of the employment.
Specifies that these benefits are not available to employees who are asymptomatic or are able to work while under a cautionary or mandatory quarantine (Sec 13).
