Vote to concur with house amendments and pass a bill that authorizes a maximum of 26 weeks of unemployment insurance benefits and compensation for the pre-payment waiting period.

Highlights:

• Authorizes a claimant to be eligible for a maximum of 26 weeks of benefits on and after the effective date of this act (Sec. 1).

• Specifies that a claimant who filed a new claim on or after January 1, 2020, and before the effective date of this act will be eligible for a maximum of 26 weeks of benefits including the number of weeks of benefits received after January 1, 2020, and before the effective date of this act (Sec. 1).

• Authorizes a claimant to become eligible to receive compensation for the waiting period of one week upon completion of 3 weeks of unemployment consecutive to such waiting period (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that the above highlights do not apply to initial claims effective on and after April 1, 2021 (Secs. 1 & 2).
