Title: Requires the Establishment of Regulations for Voting by Electronic Transmission
Vote to pass a bill that requires the establishment of regulations for voting by electronic transmission in a state election.
Requires the director to adopt regulations for the delivery and use of absentee ballots by electronic transmission in a state election (Sec. 1).
Requires the above-mentioned regulations to (Sec. 1):
Require the voter to comply with the same time deadlines as for in-person on or before the closing hour of the polls;
Ensure the accuracy, integrity and secrecy of the ballot process;
Allow an absentee ballot to be sent to the voter by facsimile or other electronic transmission, as approved by the director; and
Not allow a voter to return an absentee ballot by facsimile, unless the voter is an absent uniformed services voter.
