Title: Authorizes Construction of Border Walls without Building Permits

Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the construction of border walls without obtaining a building permit.

Highlights:

  • Prohibits a city, town, or county from requiring a nonprofit corporation or property owner to have a building or construction permit if (Sec. 1 & 2):

    • The permit is for construction of an international boundary wall;

    • The proposed construction is on or adjacent to the international boundary line; and

    • The landowner has provided written consent for the construction. 

  • Requires the property owner, within 2 months after the completion of the international boundary wall, to provide the city, town, or county with an affidavit of completion signed and sealed by a professional and registered engineer certifying that the construction of the international boundary wall was built according to the plan and safety requirements (Sec. 1 & 2).
