Title: Reduces the Penalty for Certain Parole Violations
Vote to pass a bill that reduces the penalty for certain "technical" parole violations by an adult parolee.
Specifies that in the case of revocation of parole and the return of the parolee to custody, the future parole eligibility date cannot be more than 9 months from the date of the parolee’s return to custody when the parole revocation is due to (Sec. 1):
Failure to report to the appropriate parole officer;
Failure to comply with any special condition of parole; or
Failure to refrain from the use of a controlled dangerous substance or controlled dangerous substance analog if a 2-member parole board panel determines that the inmate is addicted to that controlled dangerous substance or analog.
