Vote to pass a bill that authorizes local governments to allow certain mitigation on lands purchased and owned by local government for conservation purposes.

Highlights:

• Authorizes local governments to allow mitigation consisting of the restoration or enhancement of land owned by local governments for conservation purposes (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that a governmental entity may not provide mitigation for a project other than its own except when it has allowed a public or private mitigation project to be created on land it has purchased for conservation purposes (Sec. 1). 

• Specifies that the aforementioned highlights do not apply when credits are not available at a mitigation bank but the mitigation area has otherwise been awarded credits pursuant to the uniform mitigation assessment method (Sec. 1).
