Title: Prohibits Use of Vaping Devices in Public Areas

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the use of e-cigarettes and similar devices from being used inside public areas.

Highlights:

 

  • Amends the Smoke Free Illinois Act by including the following definitions (Sec. 10):

    • “Electronic cigarette” means any device, component of a device, or substance used in a device that uses a battery or other mechanism to heat a substance and produce a vapor or aerosol intended for inhalation;

    • “Nicotine” means any form of chemical nicotine regardless of whether it is naturally or synthetically derived;

    • “Smoke” or “smoking” includes the use of alternative nicotine products and electronic cigarettes; and

    • “Tobacco product” means any product containing or made from tobacco that is intended for human consumption, and includes any component or accessory of a tobacco product, but excludes electronic cigarettes, alternative nicotine products, and products approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for medical purposes.
