  • Defines “eligible employer” as the governing board of a local school administrative unit with an eligible school (Part II, Sec. 2.5).

  • Defines “eligible school” as a low-performing school that received an overall school performance score that placed it in the bottom 5 percent of all schools in the state prior to the school year (Part II, Sec. 2.5).

  • Authorizes the Department of Public Instruction to establish the Principal Recruitment Supplemental Program and appropriate funding for the program as it becomes available (Part II, Sec. 2.5).

  • Specifies that a qualifying principal who accepts a position at a qualifying school shall receive an annual supplemental monthly salary of $30,000 so long as that principal stays employed at that school for a period of 36 months (Part II, Sec. 2.5).

  • Defines “qualifying principal” as a principal who is paid on the Exceeded Growth column of the Principal Salary Schedule (Part II, Sec. 2.5).

  • Requires, no later than March 15, 2021 and each year thereafter, the Department to report to the Joint Legislative Education Oversight Committee on the impact of the program regarding school performance and the number of schools participating in the program, as well as the number of principals participating in the program (Part II, Sec. 2.5).
