Title: Reduces Maximum Criminal Penalty for Certain Crimes to 364 Days
Vote to pass a bill that reduces the maximum criminal penalty for certain crimes from one year to 364 days.
Reduces the maximum period of incarceration for a violation of a municipal ordinance in a municipal court from one year to 364 days (Sec. 1).
Reduces the maximum period of incarceration for a Class 2 misdemeanor from one year to 364 days (Sec. 2).
Reduces the maximum period of incarceration for a misdemeanor with no fixed penalty from one year to 364 days (Sec. 3).
Specifies that, unless there is a referendum filed against this act, it will take effect 90 days following the adjournment of the general assembly (Sec. 4).
