Title: Establishes Student Debt Relief Program

Vote to pass a bill that establishes a student debt relief program.

Highlights:

 

  • Establishes the New Hampshire College Graduate Retention Incentive Partnership (NH GRIP), to be administered by the Department of Business and Economic Affairs (Sec. 1).

  • Requires each participating employer to create and publish a list of positions which qualify for NH GRIP incentives (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies that a graduate who qualifies for NH GRIP incentives and executes an agreement with a participating employer is entitled to a minimum incentive of $1,000 each year for the first 4 years of employment (Sec. 1). 

  • Authorizes the department to advertise to New Hampshire employers and New Hampshire college students the details of NH GRIP and create and publish a list of valid participating employers (Sec. 1). 

  • Requires the commissioner of the department to include any requests for NH GRIP appropriations in the biennial agency budget starting July 1, 2021 (Sec. 1). 

  • Specifies that the act shall take effect July 1, 2019 (Sec. 1).
