Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the sale of flavored nicotine products.

Highlights:

• Prohibits a person from selling a liquid nicotine container unless it meets child-resistant effective standards (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that a person who violates the above highlight is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of no more than $50 for each violation (Sec. 2).

• Prohibits a person who sells vapor products or alternative nicotine products from displaying the sale of these products unless the vapor product is stored for sale behind a counter in an area accessible only to employees or behind a locked case (Sec. 2).

• Specifies that violations of the above highlight is responsible for a state civil infraction and will be fined no more than $500 (Sec. 2). 

• Defines “liquid nicotine” as a liquid or other substance containing nicotine in any concentration that is sold, marketed, or intended for use in a non-combustible product that employs a heating element, power source, electronic circuit, or other electronic, chemical, or mechanical means, regardless or shape or size, that can be used to produce vapor from nicotine or any other substance, and the use or inhalation on which simulates smoking (Sec. 2).
