Title: Expands Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Among Systems Utilizing Reservoir Water
Vote to pass a bill that expands water and wastewater infrastructure among systems utilizing reservoir water.
Requires the following conditions be met between a local government that serves over 5,000 customers and recipients of untreated water prior to any disbursement of loans or grants, including (Sec. 1):
Written approval by the governing board of the recipient and of a local government stating the current rates of purchase and anticipated increases; and
A resolution approved by the governing board of purchasing local government stating the local government waives its option to establish a written agreement.
Specifies that a Local Government Commission has 90 days to assist and provide recommendations or resolve disputes between a local government and recipients prior to the execution of a written agreement and before being appropriated any loan or grant (Sec. 1).
Establishes that this act shall only apply to loan and grant disbursements where the disbursement is for regionalization and recipient beneficiary of the disbursement withdraws water from a reservoir owned by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (Sec. 1).
