Title: Expands Access to Head Start Programs
Vote to pass a bill that expands access to head start programs to help opioid-affected and other at-risk families.
Requires a Head Start program service provider to provide Head Start services to a child up to 5 years old who is affected or whose family is affected by a substance use disorder, or whose family income is below 185% of the federal poverty level (Sec. 1).
Appropriates $7.5 million for the 2019-2020 fiscal year and $15 million for the 2020-2021 fiscal year to provide ongoing funds to supplement funding to non-tribal Head Start program service providers (Sec. 3).
