Highlights:

 

  • Authorizes the Oregon Health Authority to review the prescription monitoring information of an individual who died from a drug overdose and prohibits the following information from being disclosed, including (Sec. 7):

    • The sex of a patient who was described the drug; and

    • The identity of the patient that was prescribed naloxone.

  • Specifies that pharmacies, health care professionals, and pharmacists may distribute multiple kits to social service agencies or to other individuals who have experienced an opiate overdose (Sec. 8).

  • Defines “kit” as a dose of naloxone and the necessary medical supplies to administer it (Sec. 8).

  • Specifies that this act shall go into effect on the 91st day after which the 2019 regular session ends (Sec. 13).
