  • Requires the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to ask each individual admitted to the department about their (Sec. 2):

    • Preferred first name, gender pronoun, and honorific.

  • Requires staff and contractors of the department to use the gender pronouns and honorifics specified by incarcerated individuals (Sec. 2). 

  • Requires incarcerated individuals to be placed in correctional facilities in accordance with their gender identity, unless an individual’s health and safety needs necessitate a differing placement, in which case the individual’s housing will be reassessed (Sec. 3).
