Highlights:

 

  • Prohibits smoking in any public park, including (Sec. 1):

    • public beaches, pools, boardwalks, marinas, playgrounds, recreation centers, and group camps; and

    • Equipment, buildings and facilities controlled by state or local government agencies or departments found in the aforementioned public park areas.  

  • Specifies that violating this bill will result in a $50 fine (Sec. 2). 

  • Specifies the bill will go into effect the ninetieth day after becoming law (Sec. 3).
