Title: Repeals a General Assistance Program for Adults with Disabilities
Vote to pass a bill that repeals a general assistance program for adults with disabilities, drug dependent individuals, and persons fleeing domestic abuse.
Repeals the General Assistance Cash Assistance Program for categorically needy and medically needy individuals, ceasing August 1, 2019 (Sec. 2).
Specifies that the previous act authorizing general assistance of up to $200 in cash payments to individuals considered medically needy shall be declared unconstitutional (Sec. 3).
Defines “medically needy individuals” as individuals that meet the criteria of either a permanent disability, recovering drug addiction, or an individual fleeing domestic abuse (Sec. 4).
Establishes a restricted account in the general fund for treatment costs related to medical assistance payments for emergency department hospital services (Sec. 7).
