Title: Prohibits Possession of Certain Flamethrowers
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits possession of certain flamethrowers.
Specifies that an individual in criminal possession of a flamethrower shall be classified as a class E felony (Sec. 1).
Exempts historical flamethrowers used for agricultural or construction purposes, or any flamethrower lawfully acquired and possessed prior to the effective date of this act (Sec. 1).
Defines “flamethrower” as a device capable of projecting a stream of burning fuel at a distance of at least 3 feet and specifies inoperable display units shall not be considered the same for the purposes of this act (Sec. 1).
Defines “historical flamethrower” as a flamethrower constructed in whole or in substantial part, of components manufactured prior to 1966 (Sec. 1).
Defines “significant components” as fully functional and necessary parts for the operation of a flamethrower, including, but not limited to (Sec. 1):
Fuel cells, gas caps, or pressure regulators;
Pressure regulators, pressure bottles, or hoses;
Wand fuel valves, barrels, or front grips; and
Ignition shield and rear grips.
