Vote to pass a bill with amendment that requires the release of police camera video within 96 hours after an incident upon request.

Highlights:

 

  • Prohibits any action from being taken against a law enforcement unit for damages caused from a police officer’s use of their personal firearm during the time period in which the officer surrenders the firearm or for a period of 6 months following the officers surrender of their firearm (Sec. 1).

  • Authorizes courts and defense attorney’s within the state to upon passage of this bill request and receive physical evidence such as dashcam footage within 96 hours of an alleged offense taking place where officers used or threatened use of physical force against another individual (Sec. 3).
